Reclaimed Water and Your Pool

Should you fill your pool with reclaimed water? Your water bill says: “Florida law prohibits the use of reclaimed water to fill swimming pools.” There is another good reason not to use reclaimed water. It has very high levels of nitrates and phosphates. These are components of fertilizer. They will accumulate in your pool, and you will find it very difficult to prevent algae from growing. Ultimately, the pool may need to be drained and refilled.
